Dr. Sutton has most recently served as Warner University’s Executive Vice President and Vice President of Advancement.

“On behalf of the Warner University Board of Trustees,” said Board Chair, Laura Motis, “I am excited to introduce Dr. Gentry Sutton as the fourth president of Warner University. Dr. Sutton brings a deep commitment to Christ, biblical truth, Christian higher education and a passionate vision for the future of Warner. He is highly regarded by the WU learning community and leaders in Polk County.”

Dr. Sutton earned a Doctorate of Educational Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in English from Emporia State University. His expertise in educational leadership and his commitment to Christ-centered education not only align with Warner University’s mission, but will also propel the institution into a new and exciting chapter.

“I want to thank Warner University’s Board for entrusting me with the leadership of such a consequential institution,” said Dr. Sutton. “To lead a university that is decidedly committed to biblical orthodoxy as the framework for all of its educational initiatives is the honor of my life. The talented faculty and staff at Warner understand the necessity of equipping students to apply biblical truth to the challenging cultural issues they will encounter in their future careers. I look forward to supporting them in this important work, to helping connect their educational ministries to our faithful constituencies and to increasing the university’s reach and impact.”

Dr. Sutton’s expertise in higher education is vast. He has served and led in a variety of roles and capacities, including enrollment management, academic support, accreditation, academic affairs and most recently, advancement.
