Warner University has a responsibility to respond quickly and effectively to address any and all complaints of sexual harassment, and/or other conduct that is motivated by sex, using the Title IX Grievance Process. Warner University is committed to the prevention of all forms of sexual harassment as well as the protection of victims of such acts and has a policy of zero tolerance with regard to sexual misconduct on campus.
Sexual Harassment includes but is not limited to:
- All forms of relationship violence including dating and domestic violence
- Sexual assault
- Sexual harassment
- Rape
- Stalking
- Any misconduct where someone is targeted or discriminated against because of their sex
- Hostile environment harassment
What is Title IX?
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. § 1681) is an all-encompassing federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex of students and employees of educational institutions that receive federal financial assistance. Title IX reads as the following: “No person in the United States, shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance…” Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R. Part 106 (Title IX).
The Department of Education issued its Final Rule on Title IX in May of 2020 and Warner’s Title IX Grievance Process reflect these updated rules and guidelines.
Who Does Warner’s Sexual Misconduct Policy Apply To?
- The Warner University Sexual Misconduct policy applies to all members of the Warner community.
- The Warner community includes current students, staff and faculty, administration and any third parties interacting with students, staff, faculty or administration of Warner. This policy covers all members of the Warner community regardless of age, race or sex. The Warner Sexual Misconduct policy covers all activities that occur on the Warner campus and all off campus Warner activities.

Reporting an Incident of Sexual Harassment/Filing a Title IX Grievance
- Any person may file a Title IX Grievance by contacting the University’s Title IX Coordinator (or designee) or by completing the online Title IX complaint form below.
- In addition, any person who believes they have been the victim of Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault or Sexual Violance may file a complaint with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office by dialing 911 in an emergency or contact the Southeast Substation at 863.678-4170.

Training
Warner University trains its Title IX Coordinators, investigators, and hearing Panelists in accordance with the Department of Education’s Final Rule on Title IX. We currently use the Thompson Coburn LLP Title IX Training Series.
