November 10, 2022 | 11:30am – As the storm moves past our area, we are very pleased to report minimal issues on campus. All campus offices, classes and activities are expected to resume tomorrow, November 11, as scheduled.


November 9, 2022 | 2pmDue to the anticipated effects of Tropical Storm Nicole, and out of an abundance of caution, all campus activities for this evening and tomorrow will be canceled. All University offices are closing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and will remain closed on Thursday, November 10. It is expected that all normal university operations will resume on Friday, November 11.  We will continue to send updates to employees and students through the WarnerShield notification system.

November 8, 2022 | 4pm – The Leadership Team continues to monitor Tropical Storm Nicole.

A Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect for Polk County. If the current forecast model holds, it does not appear that the campus is in danger of severe storm impacts. Lake Wales should expect some gusty winds and periods of heavy rain from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday late morning. At this time the campus remains fully open and all classes and activities will proceed as scheduled. As you all know, the track of named storms is unpredictable and the forecast can change. We will keep you updated on any changes via the WarnerShield notification app. Warner follows forecasting data from noaa.gov to monitor the storm and anticipated weather conditions. Our next WarnerShield update is planned for Wednesday morning.


November 7, 2022 | 6pmThe Leadership Team is monitoring the subtropical system Nicole. The storm is anticipated to become a tropical storm sometime tomorrow. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Polk County. We will continue to monitor this developing situation. You can expect the next WarnerShield update on the storm on Tuesday afternoon. At this time the campus remains fully open and all classes and activities are proceeding on schedule. Remember that Warner uses the forecasting data at noaa.gov to monitor the storm and anticipated weather conditions.
