Learn More About Counseling and Wellness ServicesNavigating College Life Togther
College life brings unique transitions and challenges! You don’t have to navigate them alone! Counseling provides students with a confidential, safe space to discuss and navigate academic stress, performance anxiety, relationship issues, and mental health challenges. Through professional support, students build resilience, improve focus, and learn vital coping skills. This proactive care helps to prevent setbacks from escalating, ultimately driving personal well-being and academic success.

How Counseling Works
Counseling services are goal-oriented and short-term. During your initial meeting, the Student Mental Health Counselor will partner with you to assess your immediate needs, uncover practical solutions, and teach you targeted coping strategies. Sessions are typically 60 minutes and are scheduled every 2 weeks to allow you to practice newly learned skills. If you require long-term, specialized, or psychiatric care, the Student Mental Health Counselor will coordinate referrals to providers within the community.
Details on Services and Privacy
These services are fully funded through student tuition. This means individual counseling sessions and support groups come at no additional costs to enrolled students. Whether you need a single session to prepare for a stressful exam or ongoing support throughout the semester, services are tailored to your needs.
Your counseling information stays within Warner’s Student Counseling and Wellness Office, except in cases required by law (imminent danger to self or to others, suspicion of abuse of children, elderly, or persons with a disability, court subpoena).
Emergencies and illnesses happen, making cancellations unavoidable. However, please notify the Student Mental Health Counselor as soon as possible. This ensures that another student, who may be on a waiting list, can utilize your time slot. Please arrive on time for your session. This ensures that every student receives the full time and attention they deserve.
