Free Government Aid

Grants are a form of free aid that do not need to be repaid. Most grants are need-based and granted to you based on your income information inputted in your FAFSA.

There are federal grants that are available all across the nation and Florida grants only available in this state. Both of these types of grants require you to fill out a FAFSA in order to earn them.

Federal Grants

The Pell Grant

This grant is need-based, meaning you will be awarded in relation to your household income. If your household has lower income, you are likely to receive more from the Pell Grant. This federal grant renews yearly.

The SEOG Grant

The Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant is available for undergraduate student with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. This grant is on a first-come first-serve basis, so the earlier you fill out your FAFSA, the more likely it is you will be eligible for the SEOG grant. This federal grant renews yearly.

The TEACH Grant

This grant is only available to traditional undergraduate who are majoring in an education program. You must also have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. You must fill out a special application for this grant. This federal grant renews every semester.

Florida Grants

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship is a state program that awards aid based on academic achievement. Depending on your GPA and standardized test scores, you may be eligible for one of two levels of this program.

The EASE Grant

The Effective Access to Student Education grant is only available to Florida residents who are attending a private university in Florida. To check your eligibility for this grant, you must first fill out your FAFSA. Then, a separate application will be sent to you through your Warner application portal.

The FSAG Grant

The Florida Student Assistance Grant is a need-based grant for Florida residents. It is on a first-come first-serve basis, so the earlier you fill out your FAFSA, the more likely it is you will be eligible for the FSAG grant.
