Warner Welcomes Angela Abel as New Director of Alumni Development

Warner University is thrilled to welcome Angela Abel as our new leader of alumni engagement. With a heart for the Lord and a passion for building meaningful connections, Angela brings years of experience in recruitment, community engagement, communications, and strategic planning across Christian higher education and K–12 education.

She has served in key roles at Palm Beach Atlantic University and St. Luke’s Episcopal School, and worked as a consultant for institutions seeking to strengthen their alumni and community connections. A graduate of Baldwin Wallace University (OH), Angela combines her expertise with a data-driven approach that delivers results—but most importantly, she is deeply committed to people.

A Vision for Alumni at Warner

This hire marks more than the addition of a talented professional—it signals a renewed commitment by President Gentry Sutton and the Board of Trustees to invest in alumni. Warner alumni are not only donors and supporters; they are the lifeblood of the university, serving as ambassadors, mentors, and champions of our mission.

Angela is eager to extend the same kindness she has experienced at Warner to its alumni. “I am grateful for the kindness the Warner community has shown me, and I want to extend that same hospitality to those who helped create this culture. I especially look forward to hearing alumni share memories of their favorite professors and the impact of these meaningful relationships as they pursued their vocations and callings,” she said.

Looking Ahead

Angela is stepping into her role with clear goals for the year. “My goal is to create space for alumni and friends to reconnect with campus and each other. While photos and film are wonderful, there is something truly special about being present and experiencing the campus alive with students and faculty.”

When asked how alumni can get involved right now, Angela’s answer was simple: “Visit campus! Homecoming week is a fantastic time to return to Warner. Bring the entire family for the Friday night block party and fireworks and then come back Saturday for tailgating and the game. If you can’t make it for homecoming, come back anytime for a Wednesday chapel or stop in to the alumni center to say hello.”

An Exciting New Chapter

With Angela’s leadership, Warner is planning and budgeting for expanded alumni engagement programs designed to meet the needs and desires of our graduates. This is an exciting new chapter—one rooted in relationships, shared memories, and the bold future Warner alumni will help shape together.
