Incoming Warner Student Joshua Guevara Receives Christian Character Award

Incoming Warner University student Joshua Guevara recently received the prestigious Christian
Character Award at his Winter Haven Christian School graduation ceremony. The school gives this award annually to a graduating senior who demonstrates a commitment to Christ and to living out biblical principles in his or her life and daily interactions with others.

In his acceptance speech, Josh noted five traits that he believes are the most important to Christian
character: integrity, humility, love, faith, and joy. He also shared what he believes are the top five ways that Christian character is lived out: studying and applying God’s word, praying, exercising and
maintaining discipline, serving, and having a commitment to obedience.

High school principal Jeannette Williams says, “Josh has exhibited a heart of care and concern for others while demonstrating respect for the WHCS faculty and staff. Second Peter 3:18 says, ‘But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,’ and I am proud to say that Josh is following God’s leading to fulfill the purpose God has for him.” Williams adds that Josh has the rare habit of frequently asking what he can do better and notes that his example and humble spirit will be missed in the hallways of Winter Haven Christian School.

High school English teacher Brooke Sutton says of Josh, “He is one of those people who makes others feel valued, seen, and heard. He is an extraordinary young man who is quite literally exploding with potential. He is the kind of student a teacher wants to take and show to everyone as a beacon of hope for the future.”

Warner University is truly blessed to know that Josh will be on campus in fall 2025. He exemplifies the type of student who usually lands in student-leadership positions, and we look forward to seeing how God will use him. Josh plans to study Pre-Physical Therapy and run cross country. Warner congratulates Josh on receiving the Christian Character Award.
