Warner Awards Two with Professor Emeritus Status

Professor of Church Ministry, Dr. Collet Varner received the highest honors during the final week of school. He was named Warner University Professor of the Year and Professor Emeritus, alongside Professor of Education Dr. Terry Fasel.

The title of Professor Emeritus is an honor that a university can bestow on someone who has served an institution for more than 15 years of exceptional service.

Dr. Varner has been with Warner for 20 years, and Dr. Fasel for more than 25 years.

“Each of these gentlemen have served as full time faculty members, department chairs, committee chairs, been selected as ‘Professor of the Year’, advisers, and regularly offer prayer support to classes, clubs and athletic teams,” said Vice President and Chief of Academic Officer Dr. Steven Darr.

As both these professors retire and begin new chapters in their lives, they will be missed here at Warner, but their legacy and memories will live on in the hearts of their fellow faculty members and their students over the years.

Congratulations Dr. Varner and Dr. Fasel and happy retirement!
