Warner University is proud to announce that Dr. Gentry Sutton is now Executive Vice
President and Vice President of Advancement. Dr. Sutton, who previously served as
Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer, brings 25 years of experience in
higher education to his new role.
During his 5 ½-year tenure at Warner, Dr. Sutton has significantly advanced the
institution on multiple fronts, earning a reputation as a leader who is deeply committed
to the university’s mission and values. He has been pursuing a master’s degree in
Philanthropy and Development, and his new role provides an invaluable opportunity for
him to apply what he has learned while further enhancing Warner University’s
engagement with alumni, donors, and community partners. As Warner University goes
through a season of transitions, Dr. Sutton is poised to bring best practices that will
ensure continuity and promote the institution.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sutton has earned the respect and admiration of his
colleagues, students, and community members. He has also fostered strong
relationships with faculty, staff, local church leaders, and constituents, leaving a lasting
impact through his vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the integration of
faith and learning.
Dr. Sutton says, “I have always been driven to prepare students to navigate the
worldview challenges they will inevitably encounter in graduate schools and in the
workplace, and I always will be. Recently, however, my primary concern has become
communicating the cultural importance of education that is anchored in an authoritative
view of Scripture, and I believe I can best do that through advancement—especially
advancement at Warner, which is unapologetically standing for biblical truth and
refusing to be tossed around by the whims of culture. I believe that our constituents
want that assurance, and I am thrilled to be in a position to help communicate that
assurance to them.”
As Warner University continues its mission to guide individuals toward Christ-like
character and intellectual maturity while equipping them to serve, Dr. Sutton’s
leadership in advancement will play a key role in building stronger connections with the
university’s supporters and expand opportunities for our students.
