Showcasing Excellence: Senior Science Projects

On December 6, the Natural Science Department hosted a special event showcasing the senior science project presentations. Faculty members, students and guests gathered to support and celebrate the achievements of six outstanding students: Bianca Francis, Haylee Woodhouse, Abigail Zavala, Valerie Torres, Victoria Fuentes and Karina Lopez. Each student delivered an in-depth presentation on various topics related to immunological and biochemical pathway deficiencies, demonstrating their mastery of complex scientific concepts.

This event served a dual purpose. It provided students with invaluable experience presenting their research in front of an audience—an essential skill for those preparing for graduate studies—and highlighted the real-world applications of the material they had studied throughout the semester. By connecting their academic work to practical scenarios, the students showcased the relevance and impact of their research beyond the classroom.

Dr. Sanchez, Professor of Anatomy and Biological Science, shared her thoughts on the students’ accomplishments, stating: “I was very impressed with the effort and dedication they poured into this project. The depth of their knowledge and the confidence they displayed when engaging with attendees exceeded my expectations. They were simply superb, and I will truly miss them.”

The event not only celebrated the hard work and academic excellence of these seniors but also inspired underclassmen and attendees by exemplifying potential opportunities available through scientific inquiry.
