After serving as the Interim Academic Dean for the last 6 months, Dr. Shawn Craigmiles has recently been named the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Warner University.
Dr. Craigmiles has been serving Warner University faithfully since 2018. He spent his first six years at Warner serves as an Assistant Professor in our Ministry department. He was named chair of the department in 2022. In the 2022-2023 academic year, Dr. Craigmiles was awarded the Faculty Colleague of the Year award. The next year, the 2023-2024 academic year, he was awarded the student-voted Faculty Member of the Year award. These two awards are a testament to Dr. Craigmiles’ consistent excellence in serving the community of Warner University, students and employees alike.
Dr. Craigmiles said, “I am very pleased to have been selected to serve as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Warner University. I do not take this position lightly, and I am depending on God’s grace for the wisdom, strength, and perseverance that is called for in the person filling this role.
“My job here is made easier by all the staff and faculty members that God has called and put in place around me to do the work that Warner has been appointed to do at this time. I am committed to the academic excellence of all our programs, and I want our students to receive a top-quality education that prepares them both to excel in their careers and to change and influence the world for Christ.
“I also want all of our staff and faculty to be able to engage our students with the gospel of Jesus Christ and the way of Christ’s disciples that has been passed down to us through the Bible. For those students who already know God through our Lord Jesus Christ, we want them to grow, deepening their relationship with the Father, following the Savior, and walking in the Spirit. For those who do not know God through our Lord Jesus Christ, we want them to hear a clear presentation of the gospel, including the call to repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and have their questions, objections, and concerns about Christianity addressed in an open, winsome way that will be blessed by the Holy Spirit to bring them to faith.
“As I requested of the community when I was initially asked to be the Interim Academic Dean, please join us in praying for our students, our staff, and our faculty as we move forward and look with anticipation to all that God is going to do through us and in us!”
Dr. Sutton, Warner’s fourth president, had this to say about Dr. Craigmiles: “Dr. Craigmiles has proven himself as a leader that the faculty, students, and staff trust. Even in his interim role this past year he addressed a number of inefficiencies and has begun to make serious improvements in our online programs. More importantly, he is a problem solver who keeps Christ and the gospel at the center of everything he does, and we are fortunate that he is now leading Academic Affairs.”
Warner University thanks Dr. Craigmiles for the work he has already done and looks forward to all that he will accomplish in this new role, through faith and faithfulness.
