With a heart for service, a passion for leadership, and a steady aim, Caroline Nowell is Warner University’s 2025 Royal Cup scholarship winner. This fall, she’ll join the Warner family as a Communications major—and she’s already off to an inspiring start.
Caroline currently resides in Panama City, FL. There she has been participating in clay shooting in her middle and high schools. When she began shooting in 8th grade, she knew that she would want to attend a university that offered a clay shooting program. This led her to discover Warner in the summer before her freshman year of high school. Warner stuck out to her, being the only Christian university in the state of Florida to have a clay targets team. She has had her heart set on attending Warner ever since. She visited Warner for the first time last year, where Doug Elmore introduced her to the Royal Cup scholarship competition.
On the day of the competition, Caroline reports not feeling too nervous; however, she admits that a lot of the day was a blur! She recalls being particularly nervous during the interview portion of the competition, as well as being challenged by the essay portion. On the day of the competition, there were familiar faces present to cheer her on. Having previously visited Warner and participated in Camp Roar, Warner’s summer camp hosted by our Agriculture department each June, Caroline had already made acquaintance with many student workers present at the competition.
With a degree in Communications, Caroline hopes to pursue a career in political media. She has had an interest in politics since the 10th grade, when she joined the Florida House of Representatives Messenger Program for high school students. Caroline has a myriad of other interests and talents. She is involved in dance, and will be participating in Warner’s cheer team. She also leads worship at her church, which she has done since the 6th grade. She is the president of her school’s culinary club, the vice president of her school’s honor club, and she sits on the board of several other Christian clubs.
Caroline’s faith in Christ has been a part of her life since she was a young child. She specifically chose Warner University so that she would attend a college that strengthened and encouraged her in her faith. When asked about how God has moved in her life, she recalled the devastation that struck Panama City when Hurricane Michael hit in 2018. She said even though she was afraid, God preserved her and her family throughout the storm. She sees this as a key example of God’s faithfulness to her throughout her life, even through very difficult times.
Caroline’s journey to Warner is filled with determination, purpose, and faith. Warner is proud to welcome her to campus in the fall, and there’s no doubt she’s headed for great things—on campus, in her career, and beyond.
