The Heartland Unit of the National Association of Social Workers, Florida Chapter (NASW-FL) presented Erica Sirrine LCSW (Winter Haven) with an award for Social Worker of the Year.  Erica was presented the Social Worker of the Year Award March 20th at a breakfast celebrating and honoring social workers. March is National Social Worker Recognition Month. Every year NASW highlights the service of social workers and community members who contribute to the well-being of their communities through service to others

Erica Sirrine is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Warner University where she also serves as the Social Work Program Director and Chair of the Department of Social and Natural Sciences. Erica has worked in a variety of social work settings. Prior to her employment at Warner University,Erica was the Manager of Bereavement Services at The Bethany Center – Good Shepherd Hospice. She was selected as Social Worker of the Year because of her leadership, her service to the community, and her outstanding professionalism.

Rob Quam, Director of Lake Wales Care Center and a Warner University alum, was chosen by the NASW Heartland Unit as outstanding Public Citizen of the Year because of his commitment in providing quality services in a compassionate manner to people in need in the Lake Wales community.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) in Washington, D.C. is the largest membership organization of professional social workers with nearly 150,000 members in 56 chapters throughout the United States and its territories. The Florida Chapter currently has 5,800 members.  NASW also seeks to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through its advocacy for social justice.
