Get to Know Dr. April Steen
April Steen is an Associate Professor of Social Work and the Social Work Program Director at Warner University. She has been working with Warner since 2018. She has earned a Bachelor of Social Work at Saint Leo University, as well as a Master of Social Work and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Special Education from the University of South Florida. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). In 2023, she won Warner’s Professor of the Year award. She is an active member of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports, the North American Association of Christians in Social Work and the National Association of Social Workers.
April is a ranked pinball player through the International Flipper Pinball Association. Her favorite Bible passage is Proverbs 31:8-9: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
