Master of Arts in Education

Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.)

The Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) program is for active educators who want to improve their abilities in the classroom and provide leadership to the education profession. The program is designed to provide the opportunity for current teachers and educators to complete the requirements for the degree in two years while maintaining full-time employment. This program consists of 30 graduate credit hours and is delivered online.

A student may select from one of two concentrations: Curriculum & Instruction or Elementary Education.

Program Mission and Outcomes

The mission of the Teacher Education Department is to support and facilitate student success toward academic excellence, Christian character, leadership preparedness, and service commitment.

Students pursuing the M.A.Ed. degree will meet the following two outcomes which coordinate with Warner University’s mission to provide academic excellence.

  1. Master in Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) candidates will successfully design, conduct, write and present an appropriate graduate level research study related to the education field in a timely fashion.
  2. Master of Arts graduates will compete favorably with peers for employment and for continued graduate-level education.

Admission Requirements

    • Online application
    • Official Bachelor’s Degree transcripts from a regionally accredited institution
    • Cumulative 3.0 GPA (Students with a GPA of 2.68 – 2.99 will be admitted under a provisional acceptance.  Students with a GPA below 2.68 will be submitted to the Graduate Committee for review)
    • Full-time or part-time teaching position or evidence of willingness and commitment to field experiences in the classroom
      • M.A.Ed. applicants should be aware that, per Polk County Schools, clearance will not be given to any individual with any criminal charge within the previous 5 years.  Applicants should coordinate this background check with the Teacher Education Department.
