Physical Education Core

The Physical Education core is required for all three majors offered by the Department. Additionally, BSC 2040, Human Biology, or its equivalent is required as a prerequisite for at least one course in the Physical Education Teacher Education and Sport Management majors, and BSC 3110 and BSC 3210, Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II, are part of the Exercise Science major.

Exercise Science

With a major in exercise science, you’ll be ready for a career in corporate or commercial
fitness/wellness, hospital or nursing centers, community health or recreation agencies, a variety of sports-related fields, and graduate or professional fitness, health promotion, or therapy programs.

Major in Exercise Science

The major in Exercise Science consists of 51 credit hours in exercise science, science, and physical education and 14 credit hours in the Physical Education core. A minor is not required.

Exercise & Sport Leadership

With a major in exercise and sport leadership, you’ll be ready for a career in exercise and sport oriented organizations, programs and facilities. Potential opportunities can be found in fitness/wellness centers, recreational or commercial sports programs, community centers, health promotional programs, exercise and sports businesses, public and private recreation departments, as well as graduate studies in the exercise and sports fields.

Major in Exercise & Sport Leadership

The major in Exercise & Sport Leadership consists of 60 credit hours in exercise science, business, communication, sport management, and physical education. A minor is not required.

Physical Education: Grades K–12

Major in Physical Education Teacher Education: Grades K-12

The major in Physical Education Teacher Education: Grades K-12 consists of 24 credit hours in physical education; 14 credit hours in the Physical Education core; 6 credit hours in methods; and 40 credit hours in Foundational Core and Professional Semester courses from the Department of Teacher Education. Students who satisfactorily complete the prescribed program satisfy the State of Florida requirements for teacher certification. A minor is not required.

Alpha Chi: Graduates with 3.5 GPA or higher, in the upper 10% of their class, who have been at Warner University for more than a year (Medallion with Blue & Green)

Alpha Lambda Delta: Students inducted into this freshman honor society earned a 3.5 GPA and have maintained it to wear cords at graduation (Red & White cords).
