The 40th Anniversary Ruby Red Dinner took place on Friday, May 2.
Three hundred and four people were in attendance at this joyful, celebratory event. Following a superb dinner attendees listened to stories, testimonials, song and music from alumni representing four decades of Warner Southern College. President Greg Hall presented his “Vision to the Future” to hearty applause from the audience. Alumni participants were: Dan McCraw and Randy Portwood from the 1970’s; Ancil & Kathy Abney and Dean Burnetti from the 1980’s; Brigette Wagner and Gaye Williams from the 1990’s; Katie Putnam from the 2000’s; Micki Caban, Nicki Towns & Rodney Dallas from the 2000’s. Rob Quam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and a 1985 graduate of Warner Southern, gave the Benediction.

| Warner Southern College is a private Christian liberal arts college in Lake Wales, Florida. HEART Missionary Training The HEART (Hunger Education And Resources Training) Institute, located at Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Florida, is an interdenominational training center designed to prepare people to serve effectively in the Third World. Campus Warner Southern's 380-acre campus is located five miles south of historic Lake Wales, Florida, in the geographic center of the state between Tampa and Orlando. The college is near many central Florida attractions, museum, zoos and state parks. Enrollment averages 1,000 students and it has a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1. Rankings Warner Southern maintained its position as a Tier 3 school (college / university) and continued to lead in Ethnic Diversity ranking fourth in the South Region, according to U.S. News and World Report's America's Best Colleges for 2006. Its diverse student body represents 26 states and 18 countries. U.S. News and World Report also ranked Warner Southern fifth in the South for Least Debt Upon Graduation, meaning more students leave WSC owing less for their education than students in other colleges and universities. History Warner Southern College was founded in 1968 by the Southeastern Association of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, and is a co- educational institution. Academics Warner Southern College offers 28 undergraduate degree programs for traditional students. For working adults, Warner Southern offers a Master's of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program, a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) Degree program, an Online Church Ministry Program, and two degree-completion programs: an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in General Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Organizational Management. The A.A. and B.A. programs are available in nine Florida locations and online. Warner Southern is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate, Bachelor, and Master degrees. Athletics Warner Southern College offers a comprehensive athletics program that rivals any smaller college or university, including: Basketball Baseball Cheerleading Cross Country Golf Soccer Softball Tennis Track & Field Volleyball Warner Southern College is a member of the Florida Sun Conference (FSC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Colleges (NAIA). The Athletic Department qualified in the NAIA as a Champions of Character institution for three years in a row. Financial Aid Warner Southern College assists in helping students and their families meet the cost of higher education through a combination of scholarships, grants, loans and employment. Funding may be based on financial need or academic, athletic or other talent merit. Warner Southern employment opportunities are also available to students to work on campus and in the community. |
