“De-Stress Fest” in the Library

By Sherill Harriger, Library Director

The days leading up to final exams can be a very stressful time for everyone in an academic institution; therefore, for both the fall and spring semesters, starting with the week prior to final exams, the Library staff provided “De-Stress Fest” for all students, faculty, and staff.

For the fall semester we provided materials for drawing and adult coloring as well as origami classes, puzzles, and rock painting.

During the spring semester the Library staff did some informal surveying of various students to ask what they would like for the spring semester “De-Stress Fest” and we were told by many that they wanted board games and, of course, the therapy dogs.

So, last week, we provided adult coloring, puzzles, checkers, chess, Uno, and Scrabble as well as a book craft and therapy dogs.

We felt the students were sufficiently “de-stressed”!

I wish the K9 therapy would have been available at WU when I attended. They are a great help I am sure. It can help some good home for awhile. Fantastic
