We live in a complex and changing world. Our world is made up of individual human beings, each similar
yet uniquely different. How will I relate to these many persons and how will they relate to me? Why do
people think, feel, act and react the way they do? Is there anything special in the way a Christian looks
at the world around us?
At Warner Southern College, the Social and Behavioral Science Department helps the student answer both simple and profound questions like those above. We begin by assisting each student in addressing the age old question, "Who am I?" but we go an important step further by examining the Christian view of the individual and society and how we may best relate to the diverse world in which we live.
Through the majors offered at Warner Southern, we intend to take the student beyond theory or "book knowledge"
and into the practical applied skills needed to work and be productive in our complex society.
Former students are working in a wide variety of professions in Florida and around the world. Some work in social welfare agencies, others in counseling, some in hospitals, while others are in full-time Christian service in churches. One of our graduates, Carolyn McLeod, has now returned to her alma mater and is teaching in the Social Work field of the department.
